Colorado - Dallas Game 4

April 29 ROB BLAKE # 4 Defenceman Colorado : They know how good they can be. We just gave them a little bit of light. But next game we have a chance to take that away again. They were better at their forecheck tonight. They through pucks at the net and they went hard at the net. As a result, they had some goals and some bounces. They played hard tonight. There a big team and when they are effective in their forechecking and putting pucks in the net they are tough to contain. We can play better. Our special teams, power play and penalty kill.

JOSE THEODORE - # 60 Goaltender Colorado: They were with the puck a lot longer tonight, skating with it and being patient. They showed us they are a great team and we know they are. They are one of the best teams in the league. We didn't think it was going to be easy. We need to concentrate on our team and play desperation hockey. It is not in our control. (what they are going to do.) We just need to focus on our team and play our best game in Game Five.

BILL GUERIN- # 13 RW Dallas on the getaway to the mountains that the coaches took the players on yesterday: I think sometimes you can do a lot by taking a step back. One thing is that we are going to focus on the positive things that we have done not the negative and move on from there. We believe in our team and our work efforts. I don't think we were more risky tonight. I think we played a more sound game than we have all series. Obviously the desperation was there and we need it for the rest of this year. We're not out of it. We're pretty much in the same boat as we were yesterday.

MARTY TURCO- # 35 Goaltender Dallas It was devastating when we gave up late goals in the other games. I think the reason why we can play like we did tonight and close the deal is because of our strong character. The guys were rising to the challenge tonight. It was a great game for us- obviously because we want it. But it is just a small step in what we are trying to accomplish. There's no doubt in our mind we needed this game for validation to know we can win this series. With that being said, we know it's gonna take little things and one game at a time, even smaller increments than that. The belief is here. For anyone that was tetering and I don't think there was. I think everybody's in fullboard now but it's still a huge obstacle to climb here. Game Five is huge. It's the same situation as tonight so we are going to expect that same kind of outfit and that same result. on Marty skating to the blueline to take the puck from Tanguay: I just wanted to beat him to the puck and not let him get a break or score. Everything's the same where I'm making saves or playing the puck.

MIKE MODANO- # 9 Center Dallas on Turco: Just like everybody else we needed a big effort from everybody and he's our main guy. It was a situation where he needed to come up real big for us and he did. He made some great saves. We checked a little bit better and kinda made life a little easier for him at times. On what Dallas did better tonight: Good position, good pressure, being patient, closing off time and space. They (Avlanche) are a tough team to handle but we finally got a good effort from everybody. On going home to play: We just wanted a couple more days is all we wanted to do. We'll worry about Sunday when it comes. Good effort probably gets us good confidence going, get everybody feeling good about ourselves- individually and collectively.
