Giants blank Chiefs

The game between Vancouver Giants vs. Spokane Chiefs from the start was an upbeat style of hockey. The flow went back and fourth but at the end of the night all 3 goals scored were by Vancouver Giants one goal in each period. First goal was scored by Tim Kraus in first period at 13:30 the assists went to Milan Lucic and Michal Repik. Second goal of the game was scored by Kyle Blum in second period at 5:05 the assists went to Spencer Machacek and Milan Lucic. Third goal was scored as an open net goal by Michal Repik in the third period at 19:58 the assists went to Milan Lucic. After the game during the post game interviews Vancouver Giants Head Coach Don Hay said that his players didn’t give up, fought hard all the time even to get the empty net goal and that’s what made the difference. Spokane Chiefs Head Coach Bill Peters when asked what made the difference in the end; he stated very clearly the special teams and the power play, saying that the Vancouver Giants went 2 for 7 in power play while his team went 0 for 5. During Machael Grabner interview he said that his biggest goals of the season are to make the playoffs since he never made the playoffs yet and to score over 50 goals this season. Machael Grabner also stated that the Vancouver Canucks training camp has made him aware of the things he needs to improve to be a NHL player and made him overall a better player.
