Riga native Janis Sprukts is enjoying a successful season for the Rochester Americans, he has 16 points in 16 games. He’s one of the main components for the Rochester Americans who sit atop the AHL with a record of 15 - 2 - 1, after their loss to the Hamilton Bulldogs. He has played one NHL game and ended that game at -1 but gained a bunch of experience. He’s a big man who uses his size to wreck havoc in front of goalies to allow his teammates to get goals. He also possesses a hard and accurate wrist shot. Despite Rochester ’ success this season their last loss was abysmal. They were completely dominated by the Hamilton Bulldogs. They were beaten 6-0. A huge win for the Bulldogs who despite a slow start have started playing well and are starting to win their fair share of games. The Bulldogs were lead by their leading scorer from last year, Corey Locke. Locke managed one goal where he accurately wired a slap shot top corner, and two other assists. Both of his assists had him displaying great hockey sense and excellent skills. Rochester followers shouldn’t worry too much, Rochester backup goalie, Craig Anderson was quick to remind me that the other Rochester loss was 5-0. Rochester is in the midst of a long road swing which may attribute to their slowness against the Bulldogs.
