Ivanans signs
with LA Kings

The
Los Angeles Kings have signed unrestricted free agent
Raitis Ivanans to a one year contract. Terms of deal
were not disclosed.
Ivanans who had a contract with Montreal Canadiens
last season played only four games in NHL, finishing
with no points and nine penalty minutes. He made his
NHL debut on October 8th against Toronto Maple Leafs.
For Ivanans NHL season ended when he suffered broken
orbital bone in a fight against Ottawa Senators defenseman
Zdeno Chara on October 11th, 2005. Then he spent rest
of the season playing for Hamilton Bulldogs of the
AHL, collecting two points and 120 penalty minutes.
A 6’4”, 263 pounds, 27 years, native of Riga, Latvia,
Ivanans has played for a lot of teams in the different
levels – AHL (Hamilton, Milwaukee, Hershey), ECHL
(Baton Rouge, Toledo, Pensacola), UHL (Rockford, New
Haven, Flint) and CHL (Tulsa, Macon).
Ivanans has never been drafted by any NHL team.
