Karsums plays his third game Mario Perrazzino (HV) Martins Karsums did play his third preseason game against Montreal.
Only until the 9th minute mark of the first period he stepped on the
ice for the first time. He played on the a line with Nate Thompson (
C), and Jeff Hoggan (LW). In the latter parts of the first period, the
trio played a regular shift. Hoggan even scored in the final minute
of the first period (linemate Thompson picked up the assist). As for
Karsums, his play was ordinary, which is to be expected for a rookie.
Many nights, veterans play ordinary too. In Karsums defense, coach Lewis
of Boston picked his spots. In fact, the trio saw limited action in
the third period playing only 2 shifts. Throughout the game, Karsums
was paying close attention to positioning, never wanting to get caught,
however the trio did give up two very good scoring opportunities. But
he did excel at skating. Just need to work on his finishing.
