A six pack…and a shoot-out with some Otters! Andrew Marsden (HV) What more could a guy expect from a Friday night?
Well, you sure can’t say that these Oshawa Generals quit when they fall behind! In fact, they came from behind six…yes six…times tonight versus a very spunky opponent from Erie only to lose 7-to-6 in a heartbreaking shootout.
The problem is that the Generals need to stop finding ways of falling behind in the first place.
Too many half-hearted back-checks and too many sloppy clearing attempts cost the Generals again tonight.
Fortunately though for the Generals, with 1:49 left in the third period, Brett MacLean squared the game at 6-to-6 (securing a point in the standings and sending the game into O.T. where absolutely nothing was resolved).
Instead, it took a shoot-out to settle things…and the Otters stole the second point when Sean O’Conner found the twine on the fourth Erie shot!
On the bright side, this Oshawa team is clearly showing signs that they are quite willing to compete with anyone!
Now with a record 3-5-1, the Generals head off to Kitchener for a Saturday afternoon match before returning to Oshawa in order to cap off the weekend at home versus the Ottawa 67’s.
