Selanne gets his 500th goal Stephine Chavez (HV) The Avalanche hosted the Anaheim Ducks on November 22, 2006 at Pepsi

Teemu Selanne said that the game against the Avalanche was "the worst
we have played in
eight years. It would have been a crime if we won tonight. We lost
every
single battle. We didn't have enough energy on the ice. The Ducks
were
the "B" team here tonight. We got one point but need to forget this
game and
play better next time. There's no excuse for the way we played
tonight."
Selanne scored his 500th career goal against the Avs tonight. He is
proud of
his accomplishment and has this to say about joining the elite 500
Club.
"The 500 Club is very special. Over the years I have played with great
players
who have helped me reach this great milestone. It will be nice to
share
with my grandkids. Obviously five hundred goals doesn't come easy.
It took lots of hard work and I am very happy and appreciate it. I
didn't
want to make a big deal of it but the guys all came out on the ice to
congratulate me which was nice."
