Not exactly a warm welcome

It wasn’t exactly a shock last year when John Ferguson Jr. got booed at the draft. After all it was in Vancouver . Yesterday at the AHL All-Star game proved that it wasn’t just the people in Vancouver who dislike John Ferguson Jr. When John Ferguson took the ice at the Ricoh Coliseum for the face off ceremony, scattered boos could be heard throughout the whole arena. When it quieted down a few scattered cat calls of, “ Ferguson you stink!”, “ Ferguson go home!” were heard. I’m sure that is not the reception the Leafs GM expected when he agreed to take the ice.

Some Leafs fans are still upset with some of the huge contracts Ferguson has offered players so far during his tenure. He has tied up so much money on his defense that the Leafs do not have the cap room to go after any offensive players. Since Ferguson has tied up so much money in, Bryan McCabe, Tomas Kaberle, Pavel Kubina, and captain Mats Sundin it looks like they will have to say goodbye to Leafs fan favorite Darcy Tucker. His current stats in 39 games are, 19 goals 12 assist and 63 penalty minutes. Right now Tucker is sidelined with an injured foot, it is unsure when Tucker will return to action.
